Pen Pals for Soldiers is a 501(c)(3) volunteer organization dedicated to the support and morale of our brave men and women in uniform serving overseas, in appreciation of their efforts in defense of our Nation, our freedoms, and our way of life, Pen Pals for Soldiers mission is to ensure No Soldier is Forgotten at Mail Call. Through community and corporate business donations, Pen Pals for Soldiers year round mails cards, letters, and care packages to the Men and Women serving in the war on terror overseas.
Headquartered in Simi Valley, California, Pen Pals for Soldiers were founded by Barry Thomas in May 2004, after reading "US Troops Overseas Need Your Cards and Letters to Boost U.S. Troops Morale" in the local community newspaper, Barry felt compelled to contribute to the cause.

Tarah joined the U.S. Army in November 2007 and attended basic training at Fort
Jackson, SC.
She graduated basic training on February 29, 2008. At Fort Eustis, VA., Tarah
trained
as a UH-60 “Blackhawk” helicopter crew member where she graduated in the
top 2% of her class. Tarah was briefly stationed at Fort Drum, NY until she
was deployed on October 14, 2008 to Kuwait for specialized training.
Tarah’s passion has always been to drag race cars.
She began racing at the age of 16, and was named rookie of the year in 2005
at the Brainerd Optimist Drag Strip in Chattanooga, TN.
In 2006 she won her first race.
